The DCHA is committed to providing Healing to those in need irrespective of colour, race or creed; to implementing the full training of Healers; to implementing a strict and safe code of conduct, ethics and practice; and to ensure that all approved Healers are competent and insured.

Our History:

Many years ago, Major C.E. Fox-Male M.C. retired from the Indian Army, left Burma where he had been serving, and returned to England.  Here Spiritual Healing was beginning to receive attention and he became interested in it.  He tried his hand at it and to his amazement began to get good results at once so he set about inviting others to learn about his "discovery".  Among these was another retired Indian Army Officer, Major F. McDermott, and they found that they had served in the same regiment in Burma, the 3/70th Kachin Rifles, without ever having met until Healing brought them together.  These were the founder Members of the DCHA and soon word spread of their healing successes; many sick people came to them, and more and more joined as Members.  Although designed as a West Country Organisation. people were soon joining from all over the world, at one time there were Members as far away as South Africa and Fiji.

About then, the greatest healer of modern times, Harry Edwards, began to give demonstrations all over the British Isles and in many places abroad.  Wherever he went, he found capacity crowds, even in the Albert Hall in London.  When he visited the West Country he became very interested in our Association and became its first President, a position he held until his death at the age of 83.  Another early Member was an Anglican Minister, the Rev. R.A. Bontoft de St. Quentin.  Many of his healing successes were reported in a magazine which we published, The West Country Healer (sadly, this has had to be discontinued due to constantly rising costs). When Harry Edwards died "Our Rex" became our new President, maintaining a life-long interest in the Association despite moving from the West Country.

As the knowledge of Healing spread, Associations similar to our own formed in other parts of the Country, and soon realised that, while keeping their own identity it would be a good idea to have an "umbrella" Organisation and we became part of the British Alliance of Healing Associations.

In 1986 the Association was saddened by the deaths of 'Major Mac" and of "Our Rex", within two months.  Neither had any fear or dread of passing, they were too interested in their "next adventure" as Rex called it in his farewell message to his friends.

At an EGM on the 14th November 1992, after discussion, a motion was passed for the DCHA to resign from the British Alliance of Healing Associations.  This came into effect on the 3rd April 1993.

At the 7th April 2001 AGM of DCHA, a proposal from the Norfolk and Dorset Groups that we join the Friendly Group of Healers, for Insurance purposes only, was discussed.  It was accepted to join them and more details were to be obtained from Mr. Sid Perry.  The DCHA officially joined the Friendly Group of Spiritual Healers Associations on the 1 st July 2001.
